HOPE and HONOR

September 27, 2015 / msaigeon / General Interest | Sheriff’s Community Impact Program

Captain American2This is a very short story from SCIP Founder Deputy Mike Saigeon

Last week my partner and I were on a meal break at a restaurant in the North area of Sacramento County when two boys walked up to our table. One of the boys told us their mom had paid for our meal and they thanked us for our service. They each handed us a button that displayed Captain America’s shield and explained the significance of the symbol.

What a moving and heartfelt way to always remember a fallen hero.   It was reassuring to know, too, that people care.

I have heard it said that gratitude starts with humility and ends with honor. Big kudos to Mom for instilling such values in her sons.
