SCIP Junior Golf Program

May 13, 2013 / Brent Stromberg / Programs & Activities | Sheriff’s Community Impact Program

By Deputy Sam Flores

I’ve been golfing since I was 7 years old (26 years experience).  Golfed as #1 player on Varsity Golf Team for four years (Freshman-Senior year).  Played in tournaments in Palm Springs, Spyglass Hill in HS.  Caddied for the AT&T pro am at Pebble Beach.  Played in Western States Police and Fire Games, Gold Medal in Boise, Idaho and Silver Medal in Reno, Nevada.

Golf is a sport that involves patience, strategy, practice, commitment and desire.  I like coaching kids and helping them learn.  Future for this golf program, to compete against similar programs and help out in golf tournaments locally.  Field trip to a PGA or LPGA tour event in Northern California.

RT @SheriffMarshak Not the posters we like hanging in our office, but we cannot bury our face in the sand on this issue. We must raise awareness. @TheIACP @GLFOP @NationalSheriff @COPSOffice #SuicideAwareness pic.twitter.com/inyW…
